# Use your own domain

A miow site lives at its miow address, such as yourbusiness.miow.me, until it has a domain of its own, set under Address in Settings. Once the domain is live, anyone who opens the miow address is sent there.

1. Buy the domain if you have not, from any domain seller, such as Namecheap, Cloudflare or GoDaddy.
2. Open Settings, type the domain under Address, and press Use this domain.
3. Sign in where you bought the domain and open its DNS settings, the page that says where the domain points. It may be called DNS records, Manage DNS or Advanced DNS.
4. Add the records Address lists, copying each part exactly; Copy value copies one. Some sellers call the name Host, and the value Points to, Target or Data. A name of @ means the domain itself, and if the seller will not take @, leave the name empty.
5. Delete any A, AAAA or CNAME record the seller already has with the same name as one of them: it points at the old website.

Address checks every half minute and says Live once the domain works, which takes from a few minutes to a few hours. Check now checks at once.

## How do I move the site to another domain?

Press Remove domain, then add the new one. The site goes back to its miow address until the new domain is live.
