# Sell a download

A product can be a file the buyer downloads once they have paid: an ebook, a pattern, a track. miow keeps the file privately, and only a buyer is ever given a link to it.

1. Add the product as any other; see [Add a product or service](/docs/sell/add-a-product).
2. On Products, set its Kind to A download.
3. Press Choose its file. A file can be up to 2 GB.

## How does the buyer get the file?

After paying, the buyer lands on a page with a button for each file they bought, and that page's address is how they download it again. Each button gives a link that works for ten minutes. The address ends in the id of their Stripe checkout, which begins cs_, so a buyer who loses it can be sent it again from that id in Stripe.

## Does a download sell out?

No. A download is never marked sold, so it can be bought any number of times.
