# Passkeys

A passkey is how you sign in to miow: your phone or computer keeps it and unlocks it with your face, fingerprint or screen lock, so there is no password and no email to confirm. You save one when you start a site or open an invite link, and sign in at [miow.me/edit](https://miow.me/edit) with Sign in with a passkey.

## Do I need one on each device?

A passkey kept in iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager is on your other devices already. For any other phone or computer, see [Sign in on another device](/docs/sign-in/another-device).

## How do I remove a passkey?

miow.me/edit lists them under Your passkeys, and Remove takes one away once there is more than one. If a phone or computer goes missing, remove its passkey and press Sign out everywhere else, which also stops every unopened link into your account.

## Why do I sign in on miow.me?

A passkey works only on the website it was saved for, so every site is changed from miow.me/edit, whatever its own address.
