# Move an existing site

miow moves a site from Squarespace, Wix or anywhere else with a sitemap, the file that lists a site's pages. Every page comes across with its words and pictures, at the same addresses, so links to the old site keep working.

## How do I start the move?

1. On [miow.me](https://miow.me), open Ask miow beside the draft.
2. Paste the address of the site you have now, such as https://yourbusiness.com.
3. Press Move it to miow.

The owner page shows "Moving yourbusiness.com across" while it works.

## Can I move a site into one I already have on miow?

Yes. Paste the address into the ask bar under the page on the owner page, and the button becomes Replace this site with it.

## What happens to my domain?

It keeps pointing at the old site until you move it. Once the pages look right on miow, put the domain on the site as [Use your own domain](/docs/run/use-your-own-domain) says, and visitors reach the miow site from then on.
